Young Leaders Academy- Level 1: Fundamentals

*The Orientations/Welcome date will be held on Friday August 2nd from 9 - 3:30.

Session 2 - Dates are August 6, 8, 13, 15.

Earn your mandatory community service hours for secondary school graduation this summer by participating in our engaging program! Youth have the flexibility to attend all sessions and complete the full forty hours, or they can select sessions based on their interests. Our program provides youth with the opportunity to delve into community issues, familiarize themselves with organizations tackling challenges and fostering opportunities, and effect positive change! Participants will spend half of their time learning and the remainder engaging in community projects, including running activities and supporting children at the BGC London Day Camp. This is an excellent chance to meet graduation requirements, gain insights into your community, and develop new skills. Topics covered will include:

Strengths Exploration: At the heart of our program lies the belief that every young person is a reservoir of unique talents waiting to be tapped. Through engaging workshops and activities, participants delve into a journey of self-discovery, unveiling their innate strengths and passions.

Fundamental Skill Development: Armed with newfound self-awareness, participants delve into fundamental skill-building sessions to lay a solid foundation for leadership. From effective communication to problem-solving and teamwork, we equip our youth with essential tools to thrive in any setting.

Interactive Learning: Theory seamlessly integrates with practice as participants engage in hands-on activities to reinforce learning. Through real-world simulations and group exercises, youth gain practical experience, honing their skills in a supportive environment.

Mentorship and Guidance: Throughout the session, experienced mentors provide personalized support and guidance, empowering participants to confidently navigate challenges. Our dedicated team is committed to nurturing every individual, fostering resilience, and instilling a sense of empowerment.

During this program, youth will embark on a journey of self-discovery and lay the groundwork for future leadership success and the ability to continue into the next level of the Young Leaders Academy this fall.
